Cruising for Kinksters
Join The Gay Barn’s Billy and Emma (our Sub Rosa Ops Manager) to discuss how to find, approach, and connect with other kinky queers. The Gay Barn wants to build your confidence and give you the tools you need to find new connections!
In this class, learn about etiquette and strategies for successful approaches, from pick up play at events to cruising online. We will discuss flirting, expressing interest, making asks and offers, and negotiating scenes while staying grounded and confident. Then, we’ll put it all into action and practice cruising with the other class attendees.
This class is directed at the LGBTQ community, and discusses the topics through that lens. The information is helpful whether you’re Dominant or submissive, top or bottom. It is great for anyone curious about entering or new to the queer kink scene, and anyone who has struggled with confidently seeking out others to play and connect with.

Sub Rosa Social
The Sub Rosa Social at Wayfinder Beer expands the opportunity for people to connect with the community created around our space and classes. It’s a munch! But we don’t like that word and think “social” sounds so much more fancy. So come join us at this purely social event (no kink play). This event is open to all, but our space is femme & femdom-led.
This is a free event! Wayfinder has a great food menu as well as lots of NA beverages, beer, wine, and cocktails (you pay for your drinks and food). Vanilla (or vanilla adjacent) attire is required – this is a public venue with children and strangers nearby. Please be respectful of the environment and the space. The parking lot across the street from Wayfinder becomes conditional parking for the restaurant at 6pm so there should hopefully be plenty of parking. Wayfinder does have accessible access with a ramp going up to the restaurant and inside to access lower seating levels as well. We meet in the back room to the left when you enter. Please note, the Social is back to third Wednesdays starting this month.

Fifty Shades of Shut the Fuck Up
Mistress Viola Parker presents the monthly kinky play party celebrating all things FemDom! Don’t miss this epic social event for femdoms, femme tops, and the individuals who serve and worship them. With special guest hosts, Emma and Billy of The Gay Barn!
This month, the theme is UNBOXXXING DAY! The day after xxxmas we encourage you to UNBOX yourselves, rock out with your box out (think: underwear party), wear your fuzzy onesies or jammies, wrap yourself in recycled gift wrap — maybe just anything BUT ugly sweaters because the HOLIDAY IS OVER, sluts! It is time to strip down and get queered and cozy. As usual the themes are not mandatory but the dress code is. See details and more info, and RSVP on Fetlife.

FemDom Bootcamp
Hosted by Natasha Strange & Viola Parker, FemDom Bootcamp is an evening with coached play, demos, and opportunities for hands-on practice for femmes and themmes. We begin with a discussion on consent and safety, and model negotiations with the help of experienced volunteers. Then we turn up the music and use the gorgeous space and gear at Sub Rosa for experiential practice and play with our demo bottoms. Natasha and Viola and the support dommes circulate throughout the space to provide guidance.
FemDom Bootcamp is geared to women, femmes and nonbinary folks at the beginning stages of exploring, seeking increased confidence, community, hands-on experience, and to develop their dominant power. We welcome femme and non-binary dominants/tops/switches, with or without their partners. This is not for single men, submissive or dominant, and men coming to this event in a couple should understand that this event is geared toward the women/femmes in the room. We encourage questions and active participation in demos, however, learning by watching/voyeurism is always welcome.
COVID Safety
Masks are optional for events at Sub Rosa (this is subject to change depending on COVID rates).
We are moving away from requiring vaccination card checks at our events at Sub Rosa. Some visiting educators ask vaccination checks, so this will depend on the class. This policy is subject to change.
Accessibility
Unfortunately, our space is located in an old industrial building that poses a challenge to accessibility. There is no passenger elevator. The steps to the exterior door do not have a handrail; the stairs to the second floor do have a handrail, with 12 steps to the landing and 11 more to floor 2. Please request assistance if you would like someone to meet you at the door. We apologize for this issue and recognize that the impact on people with disabilities is felt deeply in our community. If you would like assistance getting into the building and up to our space for a class, please ask and we will make sure someone is there to meet you. We are making considered efforts to improve this issue, offer virtual classes, and ensure that events outside of our space are always planned in accessible venues. If there are other accommodations we can make please reach out. Events & classes can be ASL interpreted upon request. Please request interpretation at least 48 hours in advance in the notes section of your order and email us at info@subrosapdx.com.
Sub Rosa offers reduced-rate tickets to each of our classes for black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) first and foremost and those experiencing financial hardship or limited income as well. Please reach out to info@subrosapdx.com to request these ticket order codes.
